Win a Tiger 131 Engine Experience

Assist with engine maintenance. Includes a ride in Tiger 131.

Are you a Tiger 131 fan? Want to get closer to this vehicle than ever before? Then this is the experience for you.

Following the recent engine extraction, you will get the chance to assist in the final tweaks to the engine, before taking the Tiger for its test run. This is your opportunity to work on and take a ride in Tiger 131.

Information:

Date: Monday 27th February 2017.  
Time: Arrival at 8.45am – Full day experience, expect to be finished by 5:00pm
Location: Workshops / Tiger Collection – Discovery Centre
Age & Height Limit: Must be 17 or over, and at least 1.4m (4.6ft) tall

Supervised 1 to 1 throughout. 

Please note this experience is hands on, expect to get dirty. Coveralls will be provided, though please wear suitable clothing underneath and steel toe cap shoes. The Tank Museum will provide coveralls and PPE.

Participant Requirements:

Must have mechanical knowledge
Please contact the museum if you are unsure as to whether your skills are sufficient for this experience.
Must be able to climb on vehicles unaided.
Fit and able to enter the vehicle through a cramped hatchway.
Has no allergy to oil, grease, fuel vapour, antifreeze odour.
Is not afraid of heights (a lot of standing on the vehicle).
This experience is not suitable for people who are claustrophobic.
No cameras allowed on or inside the vehicle. Any photos taken on the day, are for personal use only.
No spectators.
No refunds.
This experience is weather dependant, if inclement weather the programme may change.

Programme

09.00am      
Breakfast in the Museum Restaurant. Meet Workshop Manager for a Health and Safety Brief. Supplied with PPE, Coveralls etc.

09.30am       
Head to workshop for a short talk on the vehicle, explain the days’ timetable.
Work on the final tweaks of the engine to ensure it is ready for its first run.

12.00pm        
Lunch in Museum Restaurant with Tiger Tank Team.

1.00pm     
Return to the workshop, continue final tweaks, once complete take Tiger for its first run since the engine has been re-installed. Your chance to have a ride in this unique vehicle.

3.00pm
Tea and cakes with workshop staff.

4.30pm   
Taken back to the museum and presented with certificate and photo to be sent after the Experience Day. Chance to look in the Tank Museum shop.

Online ticket sales will close a midnight on 12th January. Travel to the Museum will be at the winner's expense. This date is not transferable. Prizes are only transferable at the discretion of The Tank Museum. Health and Safety conditions as listed above. The Tiger ride is subject to mechanical reliability and operational availability. The Tank Museum reserves the right to change or modify the itinerary as circumstances and conditions dictate without prior notice. Height restriction: the winner must be over 1.4m.
