Film Internship at The Tank Museum

Sponsored by online donors through membership site Patreon.

6th July 2018

The Tank Museum has appointed a new Filmmaker on a one year internship funded by online donations.

For the past year, donors have been supporting The Tank Museum’s efforts to share its stories, collections and restoration projects online using Patreon.com.

Patreon.com allows fans of the Museum’s YouTube channel to make regular financial contributions in exchange for rewards.

Chloe ShipleyHead of Marketing Nik Wyness said; “We have raised an impressive $19,000 so far from donors across the globe and this has allowed us to fund the new position. The Internship will allow us to increase The Tank Museum’s digital video output, whilst providing a budding filmmaker an opportunity to cut their teeth in a dynamic story-telling environment.”

The internship was open to graduates of the Film Production degree course the nearby Arts University Bournemouth and it is hoped will become an annual appointment.

Chloe Shipley, a film degree graduate from Weymouth, is the first to be appointed to the post. She said; “To have an opportunity like this straight out of university is fantastic and I can’t wait to get started.”

The UK based Museum, a registered charity, has launched a drive to boost its Patreon support and is giving those who join the scheme before 8 July a special reward.
