The Tank Museum are offering people the chance to ride in a Tiger 131 at a day dedicated to the Tiger tank – Tiger Day, 22 April, where over 4,000 visitors are expected to attend.
Tiger 131 is the only running Tiger I in the world and visitors travel from around the world to see the Second World War tank run. This Tiger Day marks the 80th anniversary of Tiger 131’s capture in North Africa on 24 April 1943.
We are giving Tiger fans the chance to win a ride in our most famous exhibit in a special charity ebay auction and raffle. The lucky winners of each will take their seats on 22 April at Tiger Day. The raffle will be drawn on the 3 April, and the ebay auction has now ended.
2nd prize in the raffle is a ride in Panzer III. The Germans used the two tanks closely alongside each other in the early days of the Tiger’s service. 3rd prize is a ride in resident film star the Sherman Fury from the 2014 Fury film, which also featured Tiger 131.

Museum spokesman David Willey said: “Tiger 131 is the most famous tank in the world and there are a lot of tank fans who will jump at the chance for a ride in this WW2 icon.”
All profits from the Tiger raffle and Ebay auction will go towards supporting the Museum’s historic tank collection and ensuring that Tiger 131 can be kept in running order for years to come.
