The Tank Museum brings the story of tanks and their crews to life. Experience the biggest day out in history with 300 tanks, explosive live displays, kids’ activities, and more at Dorset’s largest indoor attraction.

As part of the Museum’s redisplay of its extensive medal collection, we’ve developed exciting activities based on the stories of the brave tank crews who were awarded them. Read the programme below.

Courageous Crewmen – Collections up Close

Learn about the men behind our medals. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak to members of the Exhibitions Team, who are researching the stories of the men awarded Gallantry medals during the First and Second World War. Visitors can also take part in a quiz to correctly match the medal to the ribbon.

Chocolate Making Workshop 

Make your own chocolate medal to take home. Restricted spaces – first come first served only. The workshop is free, suggested donation of £2 per child. Children must be supervised at all times.
