The Tank Museum is offering two people the chance to win a ride in the infamous Tiger 131 this Tiger Day Autumn, 26 September.
Arguably the most famous tank of the Second World War, with its impenetrable armour, powerful gun and huge size, the German Tiger I became a legend of its time. It struck terror into the hearts of Allied tank crews when it first appeared in 1942.
The Tank Museum is giving two tank enthusiasts the chance to win a ride in its most famous Second World War tank: one in an online auction and the other in a raffle. The lucky winners will take their seats on 26 September at Tiger Day Autumn 2026 and be driven around the Museum’s Kuwait Arena as part of the mock battle.
A prototype Tiger tank was demonstrated to Hitler on his birthday: 20 April 1942. 366 days later, the first complete Tiger I fell into Allied hands. It was Tiger 131.
Every year, Tiger Day attracts thousands of visitors to The Tank Museum from around the world for the chance to see Tiger 131 in the arena alongside other WW2 tanks from The Tank Museum’s collection.
Plus, running alongside Tiger 131 at Tiger Day will be the Nashorn tank destroyer. The Nashorn came from the Netherlands to make its UK debut at TANKFEST in June. Named after the German word for Rhinoceros, it is one of only three left in the world.

Whether you’re entering the raffle or bidding in the auction, you’ll be supporting the important work that keeps these remarkable and historic armoured vehicles alive.”
The auction will be live on Friday 14 August and closes at 12 noon on Monday 24 August 2026. Raffle tickets are available to purchase until 12 noon on Tuesday 1 September 2026.
