Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to the use of The Tank Museum website (www.tankmuseum.org) and also for visits to The Tank Museum, including experiences and Special Events days such as TANKFEST and Tiger Day.

Please read through these terms and conditions carefully.  If you access the website, visit the Museum, and / or place an order with us, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions as set out below.

From 3 August, wearing a face covering will be a condition of entry to The Tank Museum.

We’re doing this to promote the safety and comfort of our visitors and staff following extensive audience consultation.

Just like in supermarkets, the following exclusions will apply. Children under 11 will not need to wear a face covering, nor will anyone who cannot put one on due to a physical or mental illness, impairment or disability. If wearing a face covering causes you severe distress, or are with someone who relies on lip reading to communicate, you will also be excused from wearing one.

Of course, you will be able to remove your covering when outside the building, or when eating or drinking at tables in the museum restaurant or café.

If you do not have a face covering, you will be able to buy a mask from our visitor reception for 30p (subject to availability).

We’re really pleased to be able to re-open and we want to be able to stay open so we’re introducing new measures to help keep everyone safe.

We’ll be taking contact details from customers who pay on arrival or online. These will need to be kept for 21 days and, if asked, we will provide them to NHS Test and Trace.

Please be reassured that your information will be stored securely, in line with data protection laws, and will not be shared with anyone else. We will also not use your data for anything else like marketing.

We are doing this to help reduce the risk of any local outbreak – by sharing your information NHS Test and Trace can quickly identify people who have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and ask them to take the necessary precautions.

The Tank Museum is a no smoking building.

Dogs, except assistance dogs, are not permitted inside The Tank Museum. Please do not leave your dog in your car – there is not shade in the car park. Furthermore, there are currently no suitable spots for securing your pet outside the building at present. Regrettably therefore, we do not recommend bringing your dog on your visit to the Museum.

Due to licensing restrictions, alcohol cannot be brought onto and consumed on Museum grounds.

Visitors may be photographed or filmed at The Tank Museum and these images may be used for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed for this purpose you must make this clear immediately on arrival to The Tank Museum Marketing team.

CCTV is used on-site for the purposes of crime prevention and public safety.

Photographs taken inside the Museum are for personal use only. Photographs taken inside the Museum may not be used for commercial purposes without prior arrangement and may be subject to a licensing fee. Please contact the Archive and Supporting Colletion for more details.

Only serving soldiers or members of re-enactment groups specifically contracted by The Tank Museum (and participating in a specific activity) are permitted to wear military or replica military uniforms on site.

Items of clothing bearing provocative/controversial symbols or messages – or otherwise deemed to be contrary to our family friendly environment – are not permitted. In all cases The Tank Museum will be the final arbiter; admission fees will not be refunded if you are asked to leave.

Visitors must ensure that all personal belongings are kept with them at all times.

The Tank Museum will not accept responsibility for loss of possessions on the premises.

Gift Aid allows charities like us to reclaim tax (25p for every £1) from the government on your donations. If you are a UK taxpayer, by opting to Gift Aid you enable us to treat your payment as a donation, so each £1 you spend can do £1.25 of good.

Each full price Standard Admission, Special Event, and Experience ticket includes an Annual Pass. The Annual Pass is valid from the point that the ticket is first used. It is assigned to one person per transaction. These are non-transferable and you will be asked for supporting Identification on re-admission.

The Annual Pass is a complimentary offer and not guaranteed. You will need to bring your Annual Pass with you on each return visit to the Museum to gain admission.

If you purchased your ticket online and have lost your Annual Pass, please recall your Booking Confirmation sent to you via email, or contact a member of our team to locate your booking.

If you purchased your tickets at the Museum and you applied Gift Aid, we can find your booking using your post-code and surname as we keep Gift Aid reports for 5 years as per HMRC regulations.

If you did not apply for Gift Aid and purchased your tickets at the Museum, we will be unable to relocate your booking. Bank statements will not be accepted as proof of purchase. You will need to repurchase tickets to gain admission to the Museum.

Complimentary and discounted tickets (e.g. Group Tickets or visiting with a Friend of The Tank Museum) do not include an Annual Pass.

Complimentary tickets and Annual Passes CANNOT be used at TANKFEST or Tiger Day. Special Events sell out, often prior to the day of the event. Once site capacity is reached, no admission is permitted without a valid ticket.

Once purchased, tickets cannot be transferred, exchanged, refunded or returned unless the event is cancelled, moved to another date or details of the event are significantly changed after an order has been placed.

In the event of extreme weather conditions or Force Majeure, all or substantial parts of TANKFEST or Tiger Day may be cancelled or postponed. In this case tickets and or consequential loss will not be subject to reimbursement.

The appearance of all vehicles is subject to their mechanical reliability and operational availability. The Tank Museum reserves the right to change or modify the programme as circumstances and conditions dictate without prior notice.
