With an unrivalled collection of historical and modern vehicles and dedicated SME support, The Tank Museum offers military personnel a unique environment to support Battlefield Studies, formal and informal training events and unit days out.
Visits are welcome from formations and units across Defence, to include single-service, joint and civilian agencies.
Units are welcome to visit the Museum without making prior arrangements and the standard public tours and group tours are also available to military visitors. However in order to support unit training objectives we can also offer pre-prepared tours and packages based on some of the most commonly requested subjects, or we can work with you to construct a bespoke package to meet the needs of your unit or study. Previous examples include: Armour in the Arab-Israeli Wars, The 1945 Battle of Berlin, The 1918 Battle of Amiens and Reconnaissance: Wheels vs Tracks.

Pre-Prepared Tours
This walking tour of the Museum’s flagship exhibition hall explores the history of armoured warfare from the first tank prototype ‘Little Willie’ to the present day ‘Challenger 2’. The Tank Story Hall holds the most historically significant tanks in our unique collection.

Covers the basics of how to identify armoured fighting vehicles using the Museum’s vehicles from the early Cold War to now.

This tour also looks at how these high-demand, low-density assets were organised and used by 79th Armoured Division.
