Guided Tours
Step inside a WWI Mark IV to discover what life was like for the first tank crews. This is the only place in the UK where you can get inside a real WWI vehicle. If you’re looking for a unique, immersive experience, this is the tour for you.

Get inside a Cold War Chieftain tank, which served from the 1960s to the 1990s. You’ll find out about all the different crew positions, and fascinating pieces of tank trivia – like how to make tea in a tank.
Please note that for the Chieftain tank tour, all participants must be 1.2m or over to get inside the vehicle.

This walking tour of the Museum’s flagship exhibition hall explores the history of armoured warfare from the first tank prototype ‘Little Willie’ to the present day ‘Challenger 2’.
The Tank Story Hall holds the most historically significant tanks in our unique collection. This is perfect for those that want a general overview of the story of the tank.
Tour cost: £30 per 25 people for a 30 minute tour
Walk in the footsteps of a First World War Soldier through this immersive Exhibition – from the recruiting office to the Front Line – covering the outbreak of war, recruitment, conscription, and food in the trenches, up to the first use of tanks in 1916.
For a real close-up historical experience, you can touch kit, weapons and uniforms from The Tank Museum Archive.
