The Tank Museum wishes to express its sadness at the passing of Her Majesty the Queen.

Queen Elizabeth II was Colonel in Chief of five regiments of the Royal Armoured Corps: The Life Guards, The Blues and Royals, The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, The Royal Lancers and The Royal Tank Regiment.

The Queen visited The Tank Museum on two occasions.

In 1997 Her Majesty rode in The Tank Museum’s Rolls Royce Armoured car as she reviewed a guard of honour from The Royal Tank Regiment and RTR Veterans associations to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Cambrai.

In 2009, The Tank Museum was honoured to welcome Her Majesty and The Duke of Edinburgh to officially open the newly redeveloped Museum.

We join the nation in expressing our gratitude for her lifetime of service and devotion. Our sincere condolences to the Royal Family.
