Live Tank Action Displays This Summer Holiday

The Tank Museum in Bovington is bringing history to life this summer holiday with spectacular tanks in action displays, vehicle rides, family activities and more.

Visitors will be able to watch live tank battles with lifelike explosions and expert commentary – or even take part in the display themselves as volunteer infantry.

People can learn more about how soldiers were transported to the battlefield, by riding in a real M548 Cold War Troop Carrier.

Beyond the arena, there will be game-themed tours, trails, and interactive exhibitions to enjoy, including the chance to try the Museum’s vintage games at the Village Fete inside The Tank Museum’s Education Room.

Claire Cooper, Senior Education Officer, said: “Whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply looking for a great family day out, there’s something for everyone.

“With the Warhorse exhibition due to close for redevelopment from 1 September, this is a great opportunity to see it before we start work on our newest exhibition, The Age of Experimentation, due to open in 2027.”
