Panzer I makes UK debut

A replica WW2 Panzer I tank will be running for the first time in the UK at Tiger Day and TANKFEST 2023.

The Panzer I is a full scale, running, authentic reproduction of the German WW2 tank, built by The Panzer I Project.

The Panzer I was a light tank produced by Germany in the 1930s. The vehicle saw action in the Spanish Civil War, and during the Blitzkrieg in WW2.

The Panzer I Project was set up five years ago, by a group of friends who shared an interest in military vehicles from WW2.

The group modelled their tank on the Panzer I located at the Museo de Medios Acorazados, Madrid, Spain. The reference tank saw combat action during the Spanish Civil War.

The Panzer I Project’s Jose Martinez was at the forefront of the design and planning process and managed to faithfully replicate the Panzer I, with no need for heavy industry.

Jose Martinez said, “Although fabricating new parts is challenging, we have shown that it is possible to faithfully replicate original vehicles with new technologies”.

Head of Marketing, Nik Wyness said, “The Panzer I is an iconic WW2 Tank and we are extremely pleased the replica is making an appearance at Tiger Day and TANKFEST. I’m sure visitors will be delighted to see the remarkably authentic replica run in the Museum’s arena”.

To watch the Panzer I UK debut and experience the unique spectacle of historic tanks in action, book your tickets for Tiger Day and TANKFEST.
