TANKFEST 2025 ticket holders will have the chance to see these historic RAF aircraft in the skies over the arena on selected days.
The Spitfire was critical in defeating Luftwaffe air attacks during the Battle of Britain, and the classic fighter, the Hurricane, also played an important role in the battle.
Saturday 28 June, 2.11pm – The iconic Spitfire will fly over The Tank Museum.
Sunday 29 June, 2.11pm – The Spitfire will be joined by a Hurricane for a second flypast for the TANKFEST 2025 weekend.
Vehicle Collections Manager, Chris van Schaardenburgh, said:
“We’re excited to offer our TANKFEST audience the rare opportunity to glimpse these Second World War planes soaring over their armoured vehicle counterparts.
“We’d like to thank the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight for sharing this piece of history and helping us to honour those who fought during the Second World War.”
The Royal Air Force (RAF) Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) commemorates all those who have lost their lives serving in the RAF, or its predecessor the Royal Flying Corps. The BBMF fleet of WWII aircraft is preserved in flying condition as a living tribute to them, and is based at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire.
