A Booming Black Friday

The Tank Museum Online Shop reached over £100,000 in sales over the Black Friday period for 2022, a new record for the multi-award-winning online store.

A whopping 7485 products were sold, with the bestsellers including Tank Wrapping Paper, Christmas Jumpers, and Tank Slippers, amongst others.

Lucy McCalister, Digital Marketing Manager, says: “We are extremely proud of the success of our Black Friday campaign. Revenue from the Online Shop plays a pivotal part in fundraising for the Museum, with all funds going directly back into preserving and conserving The Tank Museum’s collection.”

The Museum’s Black Friday deals ran from Wednesday until Cyber Monday, ensuring customers had plenty of time to stock up on tank-themed goodies.

“In recent years, we have seen a great success with our Black Friday campaigns, with each year better than the last. Black Friday 2022 was the shops most successful day on record, making over £26,000 in sales – an increase of 74% compared to Black Friday 2021.

“The success of The Tank Museum Shop first took off in 2020, when we saw a 900% increase in sales from 2019, generating over a million pounds in funds. We had to redevelop the online store to make it as user friendly as possible for customers.”

Following the redesign, The Tank Museum Online Shop was shortlisted for multiple awards, winning two, including a national e-commerce award beating multi-billion-pound retailer Sainsbury’s.

“We are delighted with how the shop has developed over the past two years and looking forward to a bright future ahead”.
