David Willey is to retire from his position as Curator of The Tank Museum after 25 years’ service.
The decision follows a period of significant development and growth at the Dorset charity, with the evolution into a modern 21st century museum set to continue.
Museum Director Chris Price said, “David has been instrumental in a range of projects at The Tank Museum, including the development of a Supporting Collection centre, the modernisation of the museum’s exhibitions and leading the project that brought Tiger 131 back to life in 2004.”
David will be known to many museum supporters for his arena commentary at events, the author of museum books and publications and latterly as one of the presenters of The Tank Museum’s YouTube channel.

Whilst stepping back for a well-earned rest, David is not stepping away.
“As a renowned expert in the field, we will continue to work with David as he explores interests and opportunities in the wider museum and defence world.
“The staff and trustees of The Tank Museum would like to express their gratitude for his valuable contribution and achievements in the role, wishing him every happiness for the future”, added Chris.
