Tank Museum Awarded Family Café Standard Accreditation

The Tank Museum Restaurant and Café have been awarded the Kids in Museums Family Café Standard accreditation.

The Family Café Standard is a benchmark that recognises cafés at museums and cultural attractions that are great for families.

Based on feedback from families, the standard rates cafés on the quality of their online information and promotion, space and facilities, choice of food, affordability, sustainability and staff training. It includes everything from children’s meals and activities in the café to food waste and sourcing sustainable and high welfare ingredients.

Nick Cherry, Catering Development Manager, said: “Achieving this award is the ultimate seal of approval from families who visit the Museum. It is especially meaningful as it highlights our values as an organisation.

“The award highlights our efforts to improve our accessibility, affordability, and environmental impact whilst maintaining a sustainable and varied offer.

“Food and drink are an important part of our visitors’ day, and to know that we have been recognised as somewhere families feel welcome and have a variety of options that are both affordable and ethical feels great.”

Overlooking The Tank Story exhibition hall, The Tank Museum Restaurant is open daily from 10am until 5pm. From pasties, freshly made sandwiches and salads, to delicious hot meals and homemade cake.
