We’re commemorating the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a special week of family-friendly activities, plus live tanks in action and tracked vehicle rides this May Half Term – 24 May to 1 June 2025.
Discover the legendary tanks that paved the road to Victory, meet wartime residents in a reconstructed 1940s street, and enjoy trails, crafts, games and more this May Half Term at The Tank Museum in Bovington.
The Museum will also be putting on spectacular demonstrations of moving armour and the opportunity to get into the arena yourself with a tracked vehicle ride. The live displays will be held Monday-Friday at 1pm throughout the Half Term, with a chance to meet the crew after the display.
Ellie Johnston, Communications and Content Co-ordinator, said:
“VE Day marked the end of the Second World War in Europe, a date to remember the sacrifices of war, but also to celebrate victory. We share these stories through our powerful exhibitions here at The Tank Museum.
“We’re delighted to invite families to join us and learn more about WWII, and to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day through our exciting programme of activities.”
Visitors to the Museum will also be able to explore the powerful interactive exhibitions and discover the world’s finest collection of military vehicles. Plus, there’s plenty to keep little ones busy, including soft-play and dressing up.
The Half Term activities are included in the general admission price to The Tank Museum, with a free annual pass included with every entry ticket purchased – so you can come back as many times as you want this year for free!
