The Tank Museum has launched a mission to find the best model builders in the UK with a new competition, taking place on 11 February 2024.
The competition will be held at the Museum at the South West Model Show against the backdrop of the world’s largest collection of armoured vehicles.
Events spokesperson Sophia Webley says; “The tanks in the collection have a long tradition of inspiring modellers, but this is the first time the Museum has run a model competition, and we are looking forward to seeing all the builds from model makers.”
The competition is a superb way of showcasing the skills of model builders, of all ages and experiences. There are ten categories to choose from, including military vehicles, aircraft, and ships, to 3D printed models and more.
The winners of the adult classes will receive a prize of two tickets to the biggest moving armour event in the world, TANKFEST 2024, and the champion of the kids class will take the prize of a modelling goody bag. There will also be an epic mystery prize for the Best in Show.
The family friendly model show will feature model traders, exhibitors, and modelling demonstrations. Visitors to the museum will be able to get hands-on with modelling activities throughout the day and experience the biggest day out in Dorset.
