New Collections Lead Appointed

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Nick Booth as our new Head of Curatorial Services.

Nick is currently Collections and Learning Director at Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust. He brings over fifteen years of experience in collections management to the role and will join the Museum in March 2025.

The newly created role of Head of Curatorial Services places the Museum’s curatorial function at the heart of the executive team and strategic planning.

Director Chris Price said: “I am delighted to welcome Nick to this new role leading our curatorial services at The Tank Museum. His expertise and evident passion stood out during the interview process, making him an ideal addition to our outstanding team.

“This appointment highlights our commitment to our mission—telling the story of the tank and those who serve in them—while strengthening our team to ensure the museum remains at the forefront of cultural heritage in the UK.”

Nick said: “I am thrilled to be joining the Tank Museum. Having spoken to Chris and his Leadership Team, I am excited by their plans to invest in the curatorial staff and the infrastructure to bring the Museum’s nationally important Designated Collections to the fore, and ensure that it remains a global leader in the field.

“Personally, I’m really looking forward to moving back to the South West, and my children can’t wait to move closer to the coast where they are convinced there are dinosaurs and pirates. After his first visit my son described the Museum as the ‘best place I’ve ever been’, so my goal is to ensure it stays that way.”
