Celebrating six years of Patreon support

June 2023 marks six years of tank enthusiasts supporting us on Patreon.

For a monthly, or annual donation, Patrons receive early access to our weekly upload, a monthly Q&A with our Curator, David Willey, and many other exclusive benefits. Since June 2017, their support has raised an incredible £347,008.31.

To date, their donations have funded two Workshop Apprenticeships and three Film Production Internships, not only helping university graduates develop their skills, but giving the Museum a vital extra pair of hands to help maintain the vehicles and increase our video output.

Some have gone on to further their career at other organizations and some have stepped in to fulltime roles at the Museum. Here is an update on what some of them are up to now.

Film Production Intern Chloe:

Chloe was our first Film Production Intern here at the Museum in 2018. During her three years at The Tank Museum, she was heavily involved in producing 54 Tank Chats, 20 Top 5 Tanks, 11 exhibition hall films, The Tank Museum advert, TANKFEST Online and countless social media films and Curator Q&As, alongside her manager Matt. In 2021, Chloe joined the UK Ministry of Defence as a Video Producer, where she has remained ever since.

Workshop Apprentice Aaron:

In July 2019 we were able to bring on board another Patreon funded position, which saw us welcome our first ever Workshop Apprentice Aaron. Between finishing his college course and honing his skills on his Land Rover and family cars, Aaron worked on many projects including the Centurion ARV, CVRT Scorpion and the Churchill III, as well as getting vehicles ready for live action and special event displays. We are delighted that Aaron has now made the step up to Vehicle Technician and will continue to work for the Museum on a fulltime basis.

Film Production Intern Suzie:

Suzie joined the Museum in 2021 after studying film production at the Arts University Bournemouth. In May of 2022 she joined the Museum on a permanent basis as Senior Media Executive and has recently been promoted again to Assistant Media Production Manager. So far, Suzie has been involved with filming and producing 50 Tank Chats, 21 Top/Bottom 5s, 30 Adverts and 4 Livestreams.

Film Production Intern Calum:

Calum is our most recent Film production Intern. Since joining the Museum in April 2022, Calum has been involved with filming and producing: 18 Tank Chats, 13 Top/Bottom 5 Tanks, 7 Tank Chats Reloaded, 7 Anti-Tank Chats, 4 Evolutions and 12 Tank Museum Specials. Calum will be writing his last Intern update to our Patreons very soon, as we are delighted to announce he will be making a step up into the role of Media Executive here at the Museum.

Following Aaron’s progression to Vehicle Technician, there is now a new Workshop Apprentice who has recently joined The Tank Museum Workshop Team. James is looking forward to introducing himself to Patreons in an update very soon.

On behalf of all previous and existing interns and apprentices, we’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to all Patreons that have made this possible.

To celebrate our Patreoniversary we have launched 7 day free trials, so tank fans can try our benefits without paying a penny.
