Among the guest vehicles making their debut appearance at TANKFEST 2025 is a Charioteer tank and a Czech-built T-55A, likely used in the Prague Spring of 1968.
TANKFEST – the world’s best display of historic moving armour – returns to The Tank Museum in June, and the exciting line-up of Cold War guest tanks has now been announced!
Making their TANKFEST debut are Lauren Child’s FV4101 Charioteer, and a T-55A from Richard Moore Engineering. Back again for 2025 are Baz England-Davies’ AMX-13 and Norfolk Tank Museum’s Centurion MBT Mark 13.
Lauren Child, owner of the recently restored FV4104 Charioteer, said:
“I’m really excited this Charioteer will be making its running debut at TANKFEST 2025. Developed as an upgrade of Cromwell tanks during the early Cold War, Charioteers are an extremely rare and often misunderstood British tank.
“As newer tanks entered service, Charioteers were sold to Britain’s allies including those in the Middle East. This tank was captured during the Lebanese Civil War by Israeli forces.
“A survivor of multiple conflicts, she has been brought back to the UK and has been restored in Lebanese army colours to match her long history.”
Richard Moore’s T-55A is currently being repainted ahead of TANKFEST 2025 to restore it to its original green Czech colour scheme.
TANKFEST will also feature many stars from The Tank Museum’s Cold War collection, including: M60, M103, T-72M, Chieftain Mark 10, Leopard 1, and Challenger 1. Plus, the running debut of the M47 tank being restored by Matthew Pyle, thanks to our generous supporters.
