Creative Competition Inspires Young Designers

Winning entries from the “Design a Tank” competition run over the summer holidays ranged from the “The Battle Burger”, a deliciously imaginative gherkin hunter, to the “Joy Spreader”, a veteran tank that spreads happiness and rainbows.

The competition was run as part of the “Ingenious Inventions” summer programme at The Tank Museum, which included hands-on activities for all ages.

Children could design and submit their entry whilst visiting the Museum or download a form to send in from home. A total of six winners were selected, one per week, each receiving a goodie bag.

Claire Cooper, Senior Education Officer, said:

“We have been overwhelmed by the amazing imagination of the children that entered The Tank Museum “Design a Tank” competition this Summer.

“Every entry had an inventive idea, from using honey to slow the enemy down, tanks that shoot sharks, beach tanks, ones made of fast food and many rainbow-coloured tanks!”
